Gothic arch challenge -- End of Summer

This week the Gothic arch challenge is 'End of Summer' To me this means, darker evenings, the swallows flying back to Africa, the plants going to seed, the leaves beginning to turn, and the school children going back to school. I have tried to depict some of these things in my arch. http://gothicarches.wordpress.com/

Sunday postcard -- Wings and crowns

The challenge on Sunday Postcard this week is Wings and Crowns. I couldn't resist this cat, who really looks as if wings might be very useful

Shades of white fabric swap

These are three fabric ATCs that I have made for a swap, called Shades of white. First of all I had to forcefully remove the sewing machine from the cupboard, where it had been sleeping since we moved here two years ago. I then had to read the manual to find out how to wind thread onto the spool. That being achieved I then had to figurte out how to do zig zag stitch. For someone who used to made all the family clothes, this was pathetic. They haven't scanned very well, but they are all white

Make a Moo or Two --- Butterflies

The Moo challenge this week is Butterflies. Here are mine

Gothic arch. Black, white, with a hint of red

This week the Gothic arch challenge was Black and white, with a dash of red. I didn't find this very easy, and my effort is below. I used black card, stamped the church arch on white card, and applied it to the black card. The angel was stamped on paper, as were the little butterflies. I then put some swirly lines in with my white marker, and coloured in some red on the arch. http://gothicarches.wordpress.com/

This wonderful piece of work is being given away by Anne, to celebrate her six months of her Blog. She does fabulous work, and is well worth a visit

This is my entry for the Sunday postcard challenge. The background is inked, and stamped. The images were added, and a few words stamped on tissue paper, then applied

4 x 4 Friday ----- Statues

The 4 x 4 Friday challenge this week is Statues. I couldn't resist this picture, or the ugly little one facing you. Although I should be doing other things, this one appealed to me. I inked the background, stamped some Roman script, and art words, then applied the images. http://4x4friday.wordpress.com

Sunday postcard.----Doors

My first time on this challenge.

Another late one, but couldn't resist an excuse to put a door on something. I seem to be in a house and door mood. This probably means something deep and psychological, so let me know. On the second one,I inked the background and stamped it. Applied the door, and stamped some ferns, which seem to like deserted places. The little girl has been told not to go in, but is the temptation too great.!!!!
The first one has a paste house wall, an applied door, with pictures of children, and a cat added. I stamped the poppies, then cut them out, and stuck them on.

Make a Moo or Two------Wheels

Femmy choice of subject this week is wheels, and here are my moos. They are inked and stamped, with a little collage on two of them. I used vintage travel as my theme, mainly as they are the only wheel stamps I have. http://makeamooortwo.wordpress.com

Collage. We had to alter Beryl

This is for a swap, where we were given a picture, and then had to alter Beryl. I just cut Beryl's head off, and gave her different bodies. In the first one, I gave her pink wings, with an inked and swirly background. She has her tame jackdaw at her feet.
The second one is a zetti Beryl, who has wheels, but really wants to fly like her yellow friend
The next Beryl, loves music, and has wings to fly.
The last one has her friend with her, and they are deciding who's planet to go back to.
These were good fun to do, and I hope whoever gets them, likes them

Art Dolls

These art dolls are for a swap, and I really struggled with them.

Zettimona was the first one, and she has ended up looking like a man in drag. It is all stamping, and the hair is fibre.

The mermaid is made from an old bit of knitting for her tail, and has an embossed body and arms. She had various heads before I settled on this one. Catdoll I didn't mess about with too much. It's body and limbs are hand drawn, and painted in twinkling H2Os. The head is material.

Why do I let myself in for these swaps, and then find them difficult. Prehaps I just wasn't in the mood. The only stipulation of the swap, is that they fold up to ATC size, and go in the plastic sleeves

Make a Moo or Two Schooldays

Here are my efforts for this week

Dans ma Maison. In my house there is the sea

I'm probably too late to enter for this week, but I enjoyed doing this one, as I love anything to do with the sea, especially seahorses. The background is embossed with Cosmic shimmer powders, and then material, fibres, and air dry clay seahorses, and shells added. I put some beads on for bubbles.

Vintage girls series

As I am in a vintage mood, I made some ATCs with vintage images of little girls. As usual I inked the backgrounds, stamped, then applied the images, and added gesso. I am beginning to wonder how I ever managed without it. Some of them have ribbon, or fibre added as well.

Gothic arch challenge. White

This weeks Gothic Arch challenge is White. This was suprisingly difficult, as there are so many shades of white, which I know sounds silly. Some of them make others look dirty, so it was quite difficult to get a uniform look. I have used a very fine material, lace, beads, buttons and collage to create this one.

Mixed Media Monday -- Trinchies

This is my entry for the Mixed Media Monday challenge. This week the host has selected Trinchies. These are cards that measure 3" x 3", and you can do what ever theme you want. It's a great size to work on, and I have chosen my usual vintage girl, bird and butterfly. The background is inked with gesso added on top of that, and the image. I have put some flower edging and buttons on the bottom. I seem to be stuck on this colour at the moment, so must try and do something different, like brown or green.

Make a Moo or two: Music

This weeks Moo challenge was music. The first one has an inked background, with stamped music, some torm music on handmade paper, and then bird images added.
The second one has a waxed background, stamped music, and a bird tag, with an image of a little girl added. Some swirls in white pen at the bottom, as I can't resist using white pens when there is a dark background.
